Job Description
Responsibility
- Develop and deliver organized or hand-on training packages for the youth farmers, women farmers and the entrepreneurs.
- Provide regular technical supports to the farmers and entrepreneurs for successful organic crop production, preservation, processing and marketing.
- Establish community-based seed bank for achieving seed sovereignty of the farmers.
- Manage and maintain organic production in the model & experimental organic farm of MATI Bangladesh.
- Regular follow-up and monitoring of the activities of farmers and entrepreneurs.
- Facilitate cross-learning among cooperatives and encourage the adaptation of best practices.
- Build relationships with external agencies (public and private), and facilitate engagement with similar organizations.
- Work with the Mati’s program team to develop cooperatives as business hubs with backward and forward linkages into the entire value chain.
- Support in developing business relationships with financial institutions, banks, and other value chain actors.
- Support in branding and marketing services to co-ops (selling quality products and services, promotion, distribution, bulking, and branding).
- May perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirement
- Age at least 45 years
- Only males are allowed to apply
- Skills with Microsoft Office package, internet browser, and other appropriate technology.
- Skilled in using relevant mobile apps, kobo toolbox, social media and WhatsApp etc.
- Ability to implement and maintain various capacity assessment tools for quality and accountability assurance of cooperatives and agribusinesses.
- Working knowledge of sustainable livelihoods, value chain development and market systems development.
- Demonstrate a high degree of honesty and integrity.
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Motivated to work responsibly with little supervision.
- Good communication and motivation skill with multilateral stakeholders.
- Very good documentation and reporting skill.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
